Press Release: September 23, 2015
How do you associate, COLUNDRUM, 25 feet of human intestines and the pizza delivery man with Challenger Site Services?
Ashton based portable toilet hire company Challenger Site Services were recently featured on television when one of their products was recently featured on the infamous Channel 4 comedy show 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Series 7 episode 14). It was designated as the winning prize for one of the teams comprising of Guest Captain Joe Wilkinson, and team member Isy Suttie competing against Sean Lock and popular comedian Bill Bailey. They were joined by Presenter Jimmy Carr, numbers and letters extraordinaire Rachel Riley, and Dictionary Corner hosts Joe Lycett and Susie Dent.
Comedian Jimmy Carr opened the show with his familiar triva slot and promptly exploded into explaining the trivialities of ‘did you know in the human body there is 25 feet of human intestines and if you lay them out end to end on a tennis court you would die’ or on average a person walks between 8 – 10,000 steps a day - all the trips to answer the door when the pizza arrives soon add up.”
In many ways, this humorous rendition of Countdown is far more popular than either 8 Out of 10 Cats or the Countdown series by themselves. The fact that the programme is now in its’ seventh series is testament of this.
How did an Award winning company become involved? A few months ago Challenger Site Services Operations Manager Robert Allen was approached by a representative of the production company and asked if they would be willing to donate one of Challenger Site Services products i.e. a portable toilet. We of course they said yes and the rest as they say is history. Although they didn’t have the name and logo positioned on the portable W.C there was no mistaking the high standards and quality of a Challenger Site Services Portable Toilet being paraded onto the set.
We won’t spoil the surprise and give away who won the lavatory in here but you can view the programme and find out in the link https://youtu.be/IHteGm01y9g
One piece of trivia from Challenger …did you know the original title 8 out of 10 cats is derived from a well-known advertising tagline for *‘Whiskas’ cat food, which originally claimed that "8 out of 10 cats prefer Whiskas". An extraordinary thought!
