greentomatocars founders Tom Pakenham and Jonny Goldstone believe that harnessing the power of Wi-Fi and making it readily available in their cars will help them to meet the evolving needs of their customers. The innovative service is offered free of charge to both account and cash customers alike, allowing tech-savvy passengers to connect to the Wi-Fi using netbooks, laptops and hand-held devices, such as the iPhone and BlackBerry.
greentomatocars strives to provide a unique and progressive service and the business is no stranger to innovating in the private hire industry. Back in September 2009, greentomatocars became the first private hire taxi company to take bookings via Twitter. The Twitter bookings (or twookings) were introduced to give customers as many options as possible when making a booking; whilst the addition of Wi-Fi to all new cars is part of the companys ongoing commitment to making the passengers in-car experience as enjoyable and productive as possible.
Tom Pakenham of greentomatocars comments: Many customers spend a considerable amount of time in taxis it seems only sensible that we enable them to make the best possible use of this time. Weve already helped a number of passengers juggle the competing demands of working online while getting from A to B and were looking forward to building on this experience as we roll out Wi-Fi across our fleet.

greentomatocars became the first exclusively environmentally friendly private hire service in London when it launched its operations in March 2006. It now counts over 100 Toyota Prius in its fleet, which operates 24/7 across London and the Home Counties. By using the greenest car around and double-funding offsetting projects to make up for any unavoidable emissions, greentomatocars do the least damage to the environment whilst getting you from A to B. For bookings please call 020 8568 0022 or visit www.twitter.com/greentomatocars
Another in a long list of innovations for the groundbreaking company, greentomatocars also boasts the following firsts:

environmentally friendly winners of the Energy Saving Trust Industry Leadership award, in 2008
(and only) profit sharing scheme for private hire drivers in the world, which issued its first payout to 50 staff and drivers in April 2009

private hire company in the UK to take journey bookings (or twookings) via Twitter
All of greentomatocars Mark III Prius have had the necessary IT upgrade to resolve the recently reported brake assist issue. This was completed by Friday 12th February 2010 on all 27 Mark III Prius within the fleet of 110 cars and had no impact upon service.
