In 2008, Worrall Thompson and associate David Wilby took over the business as it was, but they were not confident that the previous IT system was up to the standard of the business. They decided to look for an upgraded EPOS system, offering the customers a better experience through enhanced services like promotions and communication. They also wanted this system to provide them with accurate information about stock movements, to inform decisions regarding quantities and prices, and therefore, to help avoid potential loss due to over- or under-order.
After an evaluation of the EPOS systems market, the two partners leant towards an Octepos system. We decided we would go with someone who knew retail. Many EPOS systems are tailored only toward the hospitality market; the restaurant ones are very different and dont cater for things such as bar code reading, asserts Wilby.

Support has been very good; whenever we have needed anything done it has been done straight away.
