On the 26th of April DIY musician Theya LeRoy has released her new single ‘It Hurts’. The song is available on all the main streaming platforms such as Spotify, Deezer, and many more including some video sharing platforms such as Youtube and Tik Tok. The songwriter is interested in creating electronic, alternative, and pop music. Her music is exclusive because it has both – and the past, and the future. Futuristic, unheard, and at the same time – familiar.
‘It Hurts’ is Theya’s 3rd song and with it she is hoping to touch the people who are getting through the heartbreak, inviting to dance it away.
‘Yes, it does hurt when someone betrays you’, says singer. ‘But it is important to remember that these feelings won’t last forever, we are all strong enough to overcome all the bad times, so in this song, the lyrics are sad, but the song itself is dancy and that’s what I feel like people need – to liberate themselves. It is a fight within ourselves. It is only you who can liberate yourself from all those sad thoughts which poisoned your life, stopped it from evolving.’
Theya is a singer-songwriter based in Falmouth, UK. However, an artist was born and spent most of her life an in Lithuania. There, at the age of 6 she joined a music school. Through the years of studying music, the songwriter gained knowledge about medieval, classical, jazz, and pop music. Musician is interested in using the elements of house and jazz genres in her music and playing with melancholic and sad themes which in artist’s opinion are crucial to cover in today’s society. Theya is aiming to draw an image of emotions through her music which includes sad and meaningful lyrics. ‘I Opened My Heart’ is Theya’s first single as an independent musician which was played on BBC Introducing led with exciting feedback.
