This scheme is designed to interact with the local populations and will allow people to respond to the City of London Police with any questions or feedback on the messages as well as being informed of meetings where local residents can have their say on issues that affect them.
This scheme will not replace the current Priority Alert system for business or the community email system. The types of messages sent will be shorter and will allow workers and residents to have access to the City of London Police and our partners on a regular basis.
The City of London Police aim regularly inform the local population using two different systems, each with its own benefits:
E-Mail – The City of London Police will use community e-mail to provide regular comprehensive updates on community activity and issues in the City of London area. This will include information from the Police, Local Authority and other partner agencies.
SMS – The City of London Police will use SMS text to provide ad hoc updates straight to mobile phonse on police and partner agency activity in the City of London area. Messages will provide basic information and advice.
