Pubs, bars, and restaurants are busy preparing to reopen on July 4th but customers will need to make sure they book a table before arriving and order food and drinks to their table.

The UK government announced on June 23 that pub-goers in England will finally be able to enjoy a drink in their local pub, although only a maximum of two households can meet up at once.

Venues are encouraged to avoid ordering at the bar, lots of pubs are instead encouraging people to use apps, with some of the largest chains already taking bookings in anticipation of a rush of visitors.

Dinepilot is one of the apps you might want to download, however it is worth remembering that rules on pubs reopening outside of England are different.

Customers will also be limited to table service where possible, and in line with the new government guidelines, venues are strongly advised to collect temporary data of individuals for 21 days, which would then be deleted.

Dinepilot has incorporated a customer “check-in” feature where consumers can enter their name and email address when visiting a site.

The “check-in” simplifies the process for pubs and restaurants, making it easier to collect data. This solution will help with the NHS Test and Trace system ensuring any outbreaks of COVID-19 will be contained and individuals will be notified.
