Musicians, artists, dancers, comedians, children’s entertainers and other performers are being given an opportunity to perform at a local festival this summer.
The Myddleton Road street festival, which will take place on Sunday 28 June 2015, will combine Bowes Park’s award-winning community market with a stage providing a diverse mix of entertainment. Visitors will be able to sit and soak up the performances while enjoying food and drink purchased from the broad range of market stalls as well as the shops on the road, which include cafés, restaurants, a bar and Italian and Greek delicatessens.
The festival is being organised by We Love Myddleton Road, the campaign group aiming to improve and regenerate the traditional Edwardian high street at the heart of Bowes Park village.
The organisers are now calling local talent who would like to perform at the festival – as well as traders who would like to operate stalls – to come forward.
Lucy Whitehead, of We Love Myddleton Road and the Myddleton Road Market, said:
“The Myddleton Road summer festival will build on the success of the popular quarterly markets to provide a great day out, bringing yet more life to this improving high street. From choirs to comedians, bands to children’s entertainers, magicians to dance troupes, we’re looking for a real range of local performers who’d like to share their talents with audiences from the community and further afield.”
Those interested in performing or running a stall should contact the festival’s organisers, Lucy Whitehead (email@example.com) or Daniel Cowan (firstname.lastname@example.org).
