LCD Soundsystem have announced their highly anticipated UK tour, which kicks off at the O2 Brixton Academy on 23rd April 2010 – and tickets are now on sale at viagogo. Their infamous music which is an amalgamation of disco-punk and electronica bursted onto the underground dance scene in 2002 with their first single “Losing My Edge”.
The band, who describe their music as “an engine that needs the timing looked at and is running at capacity” released their first album ‘LCD Soundsystem’ in 2005. This double disc album contained “Daft Punk is Playing at My House” which rapidly gained popularity and later featured on several video game soundtracks, including FIFA 2006 and Burnout Revenge.
LCD Soundsystem’s second album ‘Sound of Silver’ released in March 2007 reached universal acclaim, named as the Best Album of 2007 by The Guardian, Uncut and Drowned in Sound. The band created by producer James Murphy, continued to maintained their commercial praise, receiving two Grammy nominations for ‘Best Dance Recording’ in 2006 and ‘Best Electronic/Dance Album’ in 2006 and 2008.
The dynamic band have already performed worldwide and have accompanied M.I.A on tour. Murphy began recording for their third album during last summer with potential song tracks being ‘Why Do You Hate Music’ and ‘Love in LA’. Speculation and anticipation have been growing surrounding the release of this album due for release in 2010. Demand to see the band perform their new releases live will remain strong.
