ITS Technology Group based in Saighton, Chester are delighted to announce that they have sponsored the Cheshire Phoenix basketball team. Cheshire Phoenix are rising stars in the basketball league and have recently won their first pre-season match.
The Cheshire Phoenix, based in Ellesmere Port, are members of the British Basketball League (BBL) and play their home games out of the Cheshire Oaks Arena. Through their foundation and the Hoops 4 Health programme they work with over 200 schools in Cheshire to promote a healthy lifestyle. As well as the professional team they also participate in the BBL’s junior league, and have a wheelchair and a walking basketball club.
Roy Shelton, CEO of ITS Technology Group commented, “It has always been one of my dreams to sponsor a sports team. Sport has always been an important part of my own personal development and fitness along with many members of the ITS team. I was particularly interested in the Hoops 4 Health programme which gives young people an opportunity to get fit, learn to be part of a team and develop skills that they wouldn’t ordinarily get the chance to. As a growing local business we felt that is was important to support our local community and give something back for the support they have extended to us over recent years.”
James Brice, General Manager said, “The sponsorship we receive from local businesses helps support the club and enables us to reach out to the local community. Our players are professional sporting role models, who use basketball as an activity to convey a range of positive health messages to young people, including the importance of keeping physically active and eating healthily.”
Cheshire Phoenix play their first BBL Championship home match on Sunday 25th September. Buy tickets online at http://cheshirephoenix.com/fixtures-tickets/tickets/ and follow the action on twitter https://twitter.com/cheshirenix.
