About Roger England
Born and bred in Lancashire, Roger has over 30 years’ consumer marketing experience with a number of the UK’s most respected brands. After grinding his teeth in financial services with Citibank, Roger was attracted to the world of wine (who wouldn’t be?). Managing the customer acquisition through traditional direct marketing methods, Laithwaites grew to become the world’s largest home delivery wine merchant.
Roger moved from wine to travel with Thomson Holidays where he introduced a successful merchandising programme and also gained valuable web trading experience with upmarket clothing retailer Charles Tyrwhitt (famous for their shirts).
Roger also spent a couple of years as VP-Marketing in the USA, growing an online business by a massive 230% in just two years. Back in the UK, Roger was Commercial Director at Virgin Wines, leading the marketing team to achieve it’s online acquisition targets.
Roger now uses his experience to help Lancashire companies who are just starting out on their digital road – making sure they’re going in the ‘right direction’.
