Aluminium, with its unrivalled environmental and sustainability credentials, is a truly 21st century material. With its classically understated contemporary appeal aluminium is widely incorporated into many varied architectural and related projects. Aluminium is one of the most cost effective metals being used in modern day construction. As well as possessing many impressive performance qualities, such as its lightweight to strength ratio, aluminium is also 100% recyclable; and is one of the reasons why its acknowledged as being the greenest of all metals.
Gooding Aluminium specialise in supplying high quality aluminium sheets and profiles from stock, as well as manufacturing a selection of made to order aluminium products and components for architectural interiors. All of these aluminium items are available in a number of alternative finishes, and these include:
Mill is the standard commercial finish for aluminium products. This untreated factory finish is widely used as long as physical appearance in not of primary concern. Some surface markings and abrasions will normally be visible, although less so on perforated and patterned sheets.
Anodised aluminium produces an attractive, matt metallic finish. The durable anodic film is both resistant to surface marking and provides high levels of corrosion resistance in most environments for many years. Goodings wide range of anodised profiles and sheets are available for immediate dispatch.
3.Organic Powder Coating
A popular finish for architectural projects, powder coating is easily maintained and provides a colourful alternative to mill and anodised finishes. Goodings Spectra Bond coating is available in a range of RAL and British Standard colours. This organic and environmentally neutral process is often the preferred finish for fabricated aluminium products, as it covers various surface abrasions resulting from the production process.
This finish uses automated equipment to apply satin-brushed effects on flat sheets; this grained appearance helps to remove surface defects and creates a consistent directional effect. This subtle finishing process, which unless protected with a transparent coating, is often selected for products located in out of reach areas, such as ceiling panels and soffits.
Originally established in 1979, Gooding Aluminium has since grown into a respected supplier of high quality aluminium products to the architectural and related markets. Their aluminium products have been incorporated into some of Britains most famous and important buildings; from historical sites such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, to the recently completed contemporary spaces at the Scottish Ballet in Edinburgh and the Maggies Centre in London.
