Former Loyal Gov. Rauner Staffer Launches Rauner Parody Twitter Account
ED MURPHY, FORMER RESEARCH DIRECTOR, TAKES DIRECT AIM AT GOVERNOR BRUCE RAUNER THROUGH “RADICAL CANDOR” (@RADICALCANDORIL) TWITTER FEED
Ed Murphy of Chicago, Illinois, a former staff member for Bruce Rauner until last month, last Friday launched a Twitter account to poke fun at Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner.
The Twitter account, @RadicalCandorIL, has the description “It’s not going well” as its tagline. Murphy hopes the account will draw attention to the “shenanigans and stupidity” going on in the governor’s office, particularly as it relates to recent hires of new staff from the right-wing think tank, Illinois Policy Institute.
On Tuesday Murphy tweeted, “Overheard in Gov’s office: “Clearly we can’t hire people who are sane AND competent AND not racist, but can we at least get 1 out 3?” #twill”, referring to Rauner’s new hires.
Another tweet read, “Couldn’t be more proud of my *new* superstars for their great work on our 2018 campaign slogan! #weneedhats #twill” with a picture of Bruce Rauner standing in front of a podium with a photoshopped version of a campaign slogan that reads, “Burn Down Illinois.”
The Twitter account’s first tweet was posted July 14. The Twitter account can be read at https://twitter.com/RadicalCandorIL.
After resigning from the Governor’s office, Murphy started working as the third employee at Prospect Strategic Communications.
