The London based band that rose to fame in 2008, are going on a UK tour in 2010. Florence and the Machine rose to prominence as part of the BBC’s effort to locate new musical talent. Florence Welch and co have since appeared at several major music festivals and have been nominated for several for several awards. The tour will consist of NINE shows starting in May, which also includes three shows at the Hammersmith Apollo on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of May. The band’s debut album “Lungs” was released last July and went double platinum in the UK, peaking at number1 in the UK album chart. News of a second album currently in the works and the announcement of their UK tour is likely to be music to the ears of their ever growing fan base. The band has also recently been nominated for 3 BRIT Awards including: British Solo Artist, British Breakthrough Act, and Best British album for “Lungs”.
