First Music Festival Remembering Late Ustad Vilayat Khan
Raagreet Charitable Trust is all set to organize its first musical festival remembering Late Ustad Vikayat Khan. The event is scheduled on 2 successive days: 17th & 18 March 2017 at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi in Mumbai. The musical program will begin from 7.30pm onwards and is expected to witness huge patrons of Hindustani Classical Music.
The itinerary for the much-awaited musical festival is as follows:

The donor passes costing Rs 200/- will be available from 10th March onwards at the Venue.
The up-coming musical festival is in the late memory of Sitar maestro Ustad Vilayat Khan who has many fans in the country and his legacy still remains in people’s hearts. The world of music considers Ustad Vilayat Khan a revolutionary musician & the greatest sitarists of all times. Thus, this event will be mark of respect and appreciation for his distinguished contribution to the Hindustani classical music.
Speaking about the musical festival, Sanchaita Ghoshal, one of the co-founders of Raagreet & highly acclaimed classical singer said, “The aim of our music festival is to promote and encourage Indian classical music, which seems to have lost its roots in the country. It seeks to celebrate an incessant voyage of the soul of Indian music which is timeless. The festival expresses the creations of artistic traditions of Hindustani Classical Music perpetuated from one generation to the next in an uninterrupted manner.”
The music festival will also provide a platform for fledgling singers and musicians to work partnering with the eminent clan of the Hindustani Classical Music industry to showcase their talent.
Raagreet is a collaborative community effort by the classical artists Pandit Brij Narayan, Ustad Likayat Ali Khan and Sanchaita Ghoshal for other classical artists. The curative online platform endowed by Raagreet is where individual artists upload their music on the portal independently, and retain complete control on their works. Raagreet is the ideal destination for classical music afficandos, who like listen to or look for artists on the horizon, or revered masters of the art, hailing from diverse Gharanas and Angs, and to immerse themselves in their music.
