Royal Windsor is the place to see it in. A flat fixture on turf, with the gates opening at 12:20 pm, the first race at 2:20 pm and the last at 4:50 pm, its time to start thinking about form, flutters and dusting off the binoculars, and welcoming in an exciting new year of racing at the best and most prestigious racecourse in the land.
If you come a bit early you can take advantage of the many facilities the Royal Windsor Racecourse is famous and cherished for. The Castle Restaurant will be opening two hours before the start of the first race, and is the ideal place to take refreshments and enjoy a fabulous meal to celebrate this first event in the racing calendar. It provides panoramic views of the racecourse, and has a tote betting facility and TV screens to ensure you dont miss a thing. For maximum comfort and convenience you can choose between two dining packages Royal Package and Castle Package which both come with a 3 course meal, car parking pass, Club Enclosure ticket and a Race Card, although with the Royal Package you also get a seafood platter and champagne reception on arrival. The racecourses other two restaurants, The Club and the Blues & Royals, are open May through August.
As well as the attractive and popular Restaurant Packages there are several exclusive Racegoers Packages to choose from, to help you get the most out of your day. The Racegoers River Package is especially popular, and includes vouchers and discounts, access to the Club and other enclosures, as well as a return river taxi trip from Windsor town. With the Racegoers Package you can watch racing from the Grandstand and have access to several enclosures, with a car parking pass and several vouchers thrown in.
If you buy your tickets online in advance through the newly revamped website you can save £4 per adult on Club and Grandstand Enclosure tickets, and its worth noting that children under 16 get in free when accompanied by an adult.
Theres everything at Royal Windsor to make for an exciting day out, whether youre a seasoned race goer or a complete newcomer, and the first meeting of the new season is an extra-special day.
