Dr Nikos Christoforidis, member of the governing board of Embryolab, has been the Clinical Director of Embryolab since its creation. He specialises in infertility analysis and assisted reproductive technology.
After graduating from Medical School in Greece, he trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Great Britain and went on to work as a Specialist Registrar based at the University Headquarters of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Newcastle.
He is trained in the application of endoscopic procedures in the diagnosis and treatment of gynaecological disorders, especially disorders of menstruation, endometrial adhesions, endometrial polyps and fibroids.
In 2001, he became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and from 2001 to 2003, he specialised in assisted reproductive technology (in particular IVF), at the Hammersmith Hospital in London where he gained extensive experience in the examination and treatment of infertile couples.
He is a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
In 2004, he became a founding member and the Clinical Director of Embryolab.
Alexia Chatziparasidou is also a member of the governing board of Embryolab and is a clinical embryologist with experience of more than 45,000 IVF cycles. Her scientific interest is mainly focused on the application of modern oocyte and embryo cryopreservation methods and treating male infertility and azoospermia, as well as in developing methods of co-culture with homologous endometrial cells.
She graduated from the Biology Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). After completing postgraduate studies with distinction in 2006 (Clinical Embryology with Honours at the University of Leeds, UK), she was actively involved in preimplantation genetic diagnosis and counselling of infertile couples.
In 2004, Ms Chatziparasidou co-founded Embryolab, a modern assisted reproduction unit, which she also directs. She is a member of the International Society of Reproductive Scientists, (ALPHA), the European Society of Human Reproduction (ESHRE) and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
She is involved in a variety of international partnerships across Asia, Europe and North America.
Together with Dr Christoforidis , Ms Chatziparasidou is a co-founder and co-director of the Embryolab Academy, an international research and educational non-profit organisation.
