Donald Trump 2016 Presidential Run Subject Of New eBook
Donald Trump, frontrunner in the race for the Republican Party’s 2016 presidential nomination, is the focus of a new eBook by Sheldon Filger, entitled DONALD TRUMP 2016: AMERICA’S NEXT PRESIDENT? The book offers a balanced perspective on Donald Trump as a leading contender in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
The author provides an analysis on why Trump’s ascent in presidential preference polls caught media pundits and political consultants by surprise, as well as laying out the factors underlying the spectacular ascension of the real estate mogul as a credible presidential candidate. Among the points raised in Mr. Filger’s eBook is that a revolution in political affairs is occurring in the United States, in which a large proportion of the electorate, across the ideological divide, are rejecting traditional establishment candidates. The author also offers his perspective on a hypothetical Donald Trump presidency.
In DONALD TRUMP 2016, Mr. Filger puts emphasis on the ability of Donald Trump the presidential candidate to skillfully leverage his celebrity brand as a political asset. In connection with the first televised GOP candidates debate for the 2016 nomination race, broadcast by Fox News, Mr. Filger writes, “Trump aggressively took control of the aftermath of the debate, shaping perceptions that created a narrative that he had ‘won’ the debate. His campaign organization then followed up with a series of rallies in early primary states, drawing large, enthusiastic crowds that far outdid the puny efforts mounted by Trump’s GOP rivals. These rallies, in combination with highly publicized news conferences, further drew media attention around the Trump presidential campaign, in the process continuing the ascent of the candidate’s poll numbers while the establishment candidates were being increasingly marginalized.”
