Community Sports Clubs Get Help To Grab Grants
Funding experts j4b Software and Publishing have joined forces with sports governing bodies including England Basketball, the Lawn Tennis Association and the Rugby Football League to launch a dedicated sports funding search tool.
With community sports budgets set to be slashed as a result of massive upcoming public spending cuts, lots of grassroots clubs are facing up to an uncertain future.
But many arent aware that millions of pounds worth of grants, loans, bursaries and awards are on offer every year to promote community sport.
To help solve this problem, j4b has incorporated a fully searchable sports funding database into the websites of a number of major governing bodies, including England Basketball, the Lawn Tennis Association and the Rugby Football League.
The tool includes full details on hundreds of funds provided by government departments, councils, the National Lottery, charitable trusts, and agencies such as Sport England.
Local clubs, grassroots sports organisations, and aspiring athletes can then use the search tool for free to find the money they need to buy new kit and equipment, upgrade their facilities, train coaches and much more.
Daniel Andrews, business development manager at j4b, said:
"This is a really simple way for grassroots sports clubs to find much-needed funding. All they have to do is answer a couple of quick questions, like where they are from and what they want money for, and theyll get a full, up to date list of all the funds theyre able to apply for."
Matt Baird, club development manager at England Basketball, is delighted with the search tools impact:
"We are always looking to provide more guidance and support to our clubs and so the concept of an online funding search facility sounded like excellent one.
"The whole process has been extremely easy, with j4b providing us with a comprehensive funding search facility that meets the needs of our clubs and affiliated groups."
