The UK governments own scrappage scheme is set to come to an end in the next couple of months and this latest initiative from the Japanese automotive giants could see a rise in sales once again.

Toyota has been ranked as the worlds largest automobile manufacturer by sales and is still trying to meet the demands of the UK consumer market.

Toyota is offering drivers the opportunity to purchase brand-new Yaris, Auris and Avensis models with a discount of up to £2,000 for swapping their used vehicle.

The latest Toyota Yaris has been produced with increased fuel-efficiency and greater power, making it a more attractive option than in recent years. The Toyota swappage scheme is open for new cars until 31st March and registered up to 31st July this year.

As part of the offer, Toyota stipulates that the trade-in vehicle must be DVLA-registered, have a current MOT certificate and be legally insured.

Toyota Sales director, Richard Balshaw, said: The famous quality, reliability and keen cost-of-ownership of our models have made them a hugely popular choice for motorists taking advantage of Scrappage," adding that the ‘swappage’ scheme would extend these opportunities.
