In the biggest deal of its kind this year, The Burnt Tree Vehicle Rental will take delivery of 800 new vehicles in the next eight weeks having invested £14 million in its fleet. The total Burnt Tree portfolio now stands at over 9,000 vehicles and provides a one stop shop for fleet managers with cars, Small, medium and Large vans, 3.5 ton tippers, 7.5 tonne box vans and 44 Ton Tractor Units just some of the vehicles it provides.

This is the third year in a row the Group has spent a significant sum on its fleet bringing the total invested for the last three years to almost £120 million. Some of the vehicles, from the likes of Vauxhall, Ford, Citroen and Volkswagen, will replace existing vehicles which have come to the end of their life cycle. However more than 50% are additional vehicles; a clear reflection not only of Burnt Trees ability to weather the recent economic downturn but to continue its growth plans.

Richard Metcalfe Chief Executive said: Our utilisation figures remain very buoyant and are currently running at an all time high for the company. We are continuing on our strategy for growing the business, but havent been afraid to stand back and make difficult decisions where necessary.

Although Burnt Tree is reporting some sectors such as the construction industry remain relatively stagnant they are seeing signs of recovery. However their core success over the last twelve months has come from the business to business sector.

Richard also said: The fact that we arent tied to one particular manufacturer means we can shop around for the best deals and negotiate on models we know our customers want. We can also purchase vehicles we wouldnt normally specify in any volume if a customer knows its right for them. A good example of this is the recent contract win from FPS Distribution who deliver automotive parts to over 2,500 motor factor customers across the UK. FPS knew that the Citroen Berlingo was ideally suited to their business so we were able to source 150 plus of the exact model the customer requested.

Established in 1983, the Burnt Tree Group now has 17 branches around the country offering customers a wide range of services from daily rental to comprehensive fleet management.
