Peapod & Co. announced its first anniversary as a boutique catering and events company.

It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since Peapod & Co. opened its doors on 7 April 2019. Peapod & Co. founder, Henrietta Russell, is taking a quiet moment to reflect on the past twelve months, and toast with her family at home whilst in lockdown. From themed weddings to corporate dinners, and private house parties, Peapod & Co. has enjoyed catering a wide range of bespoke events – curating unforgettable moments for its private and corporate clients in the countryside and the city.

As a boutique catering business, Peapod & Co. has undoubtedly faced many challenges since launching, and Coronavirus is proving to be one of the biggest, but it has been rewarding to overcome these and watch the small catering and events company grow.

Henrietta launched Peapod & Co. to bring creative, seasonal menus to Hampshire, London and beyond. Ballymaloe trained, she has over fifteen years of catering experience working at London’s premier events from whimsical weddings to Chelsea Flower Show, Summer parties at the V&A and Royal Academy and London Fashion Week. Growing up in the countryside, Henrietta is passionate about sourcing the best fresh, local ingredients for her dishes wherever possible, bringing these to life with new techniques and experimental touches.

Key highlights since its inception include:

  • Launching its website, social media channels and luxury brand;
  • Opening its Head Office and commercial high-spec kitchen in Selborne, Alton in Hampshire;
  • Catering luxury events and weddings of up to 250 guests;
  • Entering Country Life’s Canapé of the Year award, along with the UK’s top events and catering businesses, and coming fourth;
  • Building a loyal client base in the South East of England;
  • Watching its corporate and private clients’ visions come to life and seeing their clients have fun/ relax at their events.

Next year Peapod & Co. hope to cater more amazing weddings and events, curate more seasonal menus and delicious recipes, and grow their staff as the catering company expands. Whilst Peapod & Co. is deeply saddened by the current circumstances, and the events industry is on pause, Peapod & Co. hope the catering and events industry, and the NHS, can resume to the party life, they all know and love, soon.
