Bournes International Moves have been named Winner of the first British Association of Removers (BAR) and Which? Trusted Traders Overseas Mover of the Year Competition, newly launched for 2015 which celebrates the best International Removals companies in the Household Goods shipping industry.
The award was presented to Tom Bourne (one of Bournes current 5th Generation company owners) and International Corporate Account Manager Marilyn Wilson at the BAR’s annual conference in Belfast.

The BAR is the largest established & most recognised Trade Association for the removals industry in the UK with over 500 of the leading professional removal and storage companies in membership. Members must meet strict standards and adhere to a Trading Standards institute approved Code of Practice.
The BAR’s Overseas Group is a dedicated group of companies within the British Association of Removers that specialize in all aspects of overseas removals.
The aim of the award is to encourage and celebrate high standards in the International Removals Industry and to reward those companies that lead by example and excel at customer service.
The competition seeks to identify the best international removals companies focusing completely on the ‘Customer Experience’ from making their decision and selecting a removal company right through to post move follow up and customer feedback.
Entries were judged according to:
• Customer feedback and satisfaction
• Website customer experience
• Online contact
• Quotation package – content, layout, information and clarity
• Knowledge, professionalism and helpfulness of staff
• Commitment to quality and high standards
Independent judges scored entrants through a range of activities including mystery shopping and interviews with previous customers.
