Bournemouth Sevens becomes the world's largest rugby festival

The Bournemouth Sevens Festival attracts 20,000 people over the May Bank Holiday from the 28th- 30th May 2010.

Now in its third year, the events previous success have resulted in the festival being a sell out five months prior to the event.

British Lion and Leicester Tigers scrum half, Austin Healey commented,

"Bournemouth Sevens is not just a festival of rugby; its so much more with music, netball, camping and entertainment for both adults and the kids. I’m so impressed with the magnitude of the event which is why I keep coming back year on year".

Festival Director, Roger Woodall, said, "With the inclusion of sevens in the Rio 2016 Olympics rugby sevens has gone through the roof. We have so many teams and spectators returning year on year showing the success of the festival".

The professionally ran organisation have recently won the Sports Business Award for Mass Participation with 4,000 participants enjoying the sporting activity over the weekend.
