“A Penny’s Eye View” by L. J. Greatrex is published
As the same penny passes from one person to another, their life story is revealed
About the Book:
Each tale in this short story collection traces events in the life of whoever possesses a specific penny coin as it changes hands. The thread linking the stories is the coin, although its owners may have no commonality. The stories creatively reflect the social status and aspirations of the current possessor of the coin. Therefore, one sees the diversity of life occurring at various levels of society. We are invited to share in the characters’ joys and sorrows, and witness their actions which range from good to bad, kind to cruel and generous to greedy.
About the Author:
J. Greatrex was born one of three siblings in a small village in the Midlands, having only moved around the same village three times with just a small break when living in West Kirby on the Wirral. L. J.’s career began with General Electric and progressed through to the financial sector of the steel industry, spending the most recent years with a classic car parts company and today as their Financial Health Consultant.
Over many years travelling the globe with family and friends for pleasure, the ideas developed and used in the Hackers series of novels (which includes Conscious Revenge, Payback, Just Deserts, Without A Doubt, Doubt Revisited, Informed Decision, Dark Forces and Misconception) have been in part attributed to these experiences; that and a vivid imagination has helped create the characters and situations in these thriller novels.
Excerpt from the Book:
“The prison where the penny ended up, having been taken in by the vicar and won in a card game by the sympathetic lag, changed hands many times, finally ending up with one of her Majesty’s prison guards responsible for making the vicar’s life a misery, as he considered the evil bastard had not only ruined the life of Molly, but almost the life of Patsy.
This guard hooked on gambling then promptly lost the cash to a mouse of a man, who also had serious problems due to his many indiscretions. This was just the beginning of a series of misfortunes the penny was destined to oversee.
It was now the turn of a mouse of a man named Stan, to possess the penny. No doubt this scheming little man had his own tale to tell.”
