57% OF MEN DONT BELIEVE SEX TEXTS AS CHEATING BUT 86% OF WOMEN DO 1

The UKs leading discount code and voucher site, www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, has conducted research to find out just what people considered to be cheating. The research was carried out after MyVoucherCodes noticed a lot of talk about celebrity infidelity on their active community forum

The site, which currently sees 11m unique users a month, quizzed 1,456 people of whom 698 were men and 758 were women. Of the men polled 57% said that they didnt think that sending sexy text messages to another woman as cheating, regardless of how suggestive they were. 86% of women however, said that they believed it was cheating even if their partner didnt go any further than texting.

When asked whether they would dump a partner for sending saucy texts, 1 in 3 women said yes whilst only 1 in 6 men said they would. With regards to social networking, 1 in 4 women said that they would dump their partner for flirting with another woman on sites such as Facebook, dependant on who the flirting was with and how explicit. 19% of men said that they wouldnt consider this cheating but would dump a girl for it.

83% of men said that they would end their relationship with a partner if they had found out that they had slept with someone else, whilst 1 in 10 said it would depend on who they had slept with. 5% of men said that they would never dump their girlfriend if she cheated as long as she didnt do it again. 8% of men said that they would forgive their girlfriend if she had slept with another woman.

92% of women said that they would dump their partner if they found out he had slept with another person, whilst 3% said that they would forgive and give them a second chance. Of the 92% that said they would dump a partner, almost half said they would find it difficult to move on and would probably consider a reconciliation.

When it came to what people actually considered cheating 94% said that they thought full sexual intercourse was the definition, whilst 59% said kissing was a big no-no. 1 in 3 people asked said that they would consider taking someone back if they told them about the infidelity before they heard it from someone else.

What the British public consider cheating;

1. Sex with another person 94%

2. Sexual contact 81%

3. Texting 71%

4. Kissing 59%

5. Flirting 37%

71% of the people polled said that they considered sexually explicit text messages as cheating, with over half saying that they thought both Vernon Kay and Ashley Cole should be dumped following recent allegations.

Mark Pearson, Managing Director of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk said;

Its interesting to see the results of this survey as it is very topical at the moment following revelations about certain celebrities doing the dirty. It seems that both men and women have varying views on what they consider to be cheating, whether it be texting or sex with another person.
