Swipii product goes freemium, as local businesses are now able to sign up for free.

New ratings feature released to allow users to help local businesses improve.

As Swipii approaches the halfway point of in one of its most significant years so far, the Glasgow-based customer loyalty app continues to put local businesses at the heart of its product with two major changes to the offering- a free package version of the product and an all-new rating feature.

One of the biggest changes to the Swipii product since moving from a tablet-based model to the customer loyalty app is that local businesses can now sign up for a loyalty program with Swipii completely for free. Businesses using the Lite package will be able to have a simple, branded loyalty program within the app to remove the need for paper punch cards, QR codes or any hardware.

Following on from the controversial documentary, Billion Dollar Bully, Swipii has also just released an alternative to TripAdvisor and Yelp for local independent businesses.

With their powerful card linking technology, Swipii can prompt users to review their visits at local businesses after each transaction. Shoppers can review Swipii participating businesses with 1 to 5 stars, and give feedback in a format similar to Uber- opting to quote “food”, “service” or even “table” as the reason for their rating.

For the moment, the ratings from their customers will only be visible privately to businesses on their own Swipii dashboard when signed up to Swipii’s Grow or Premium packages, although users will be able to rate 100% of the business on the app.

This feature was created in order to enable small businesses to learn what they are doing well and what they need to improve on- without these comments making it into the public domain. The new ratings are linked to each customers’ spend with a linked card in a participating business, as is the loyalty points system. This makes each rating verified, reliable and can be analysed alongside each transaction, making them a powerful tool to allow small businesses to improve and grow.
