Senior Partner for Ibbett Mosely Dr Robert Wickham led the toast to Head Auctioneer Derek Hodge’s amazing service with Ibbett Mosely at an event at St Julian’s in Kent on 29th March. Derek joined Ibbett Mosely in 1959 and rose to become the Partner in charge of auctions, fine arts and probate valuations. He has a practice extending over the whole South East of England with a particular specialism on silver. Dr Wickham paid tribute to Derek’s loyalty to the Ibbett Mosely over such a long period and his expertise within the antiques world. A milestone in his career was the opening of the dedicated auction room in 2010 situated in Argyle Road purchased and owned by Ibbett Mosely with regular auctions every month throughout the year except for August.

As part of the event, Derek held a charity auction that raised more than £200 for The League of Friends of Sevenoaks Hospital.

Derek acknowledged an old cliché when talking about his time with Ibbett Mosely and said that; “Having worked for Ibbett Mosely, or Ibbett Mosely Card & Co, as it used to be known, for 53 years, it has been more than a job to me; it has been a way of life.

“I have been privileged to have had such an interesting and varied profession, one needing a degree of compassion and sensitivity. It’s more like a hobby, with some remuneration at the end of the month!”

Ibbett Mosely has resumed regular property auctions having had a successful event in November last year led by Derek Hodge. Alan Crowe-White takes over as lead Partner although Derek remains a Partner and will continue work part time and Alan looks forward to expanding the department working with the other sections of the Ibbett Mosely. Best known for its residential and commercial property services, Ibbett Mosely offers a complete range of integrated property services, from selling, letting and property management to planning consultancy and design, surveying, architectural services and town planning. The award-winning company also owns an auction house in Sevenoaks specialising in furniture, antiques and fine art, and soon to include property.

Ibbett Mosely, which has been operating for more than 100 years, has offices in London, Sevenoaks, Otford, Borough Green, Westerham and West Malling and has some of the UK’s most experienced chartered surveyors on their team.

Ibbett Mosely can be contacted on 01732 452246 or 01732 456731 for an auction catalogue or for information regarding future auctions or go to www.ibbettmosely.co.uk You can also view images of the lots and get more information on Ibbett Mosely’s Facebook page.

The forum aims to provide the citizens an easily accessible platform to exchange ideas on the pressing issues of the society and develop the ability to understand others’ viewpoint as well.

The participants get the opportunity to share platform with highbrow audience. They apprise themselves with what the highly acclaimed intellectuals have to say about the issues. Contributing to the discussion, the participants can play a significant role in forming opinion on any particular topic. Such discussions have an important role to play in setting up the line of thought and goad the powers-that-be to take appropriate action.

Exchange of thoughts is the basis of democratic society and platforms such as Leicester Exchanges contribute in big way to intra-society interaction. Leicester Exchanges maintains that every person has something worthwhile to say and a liberal society must provide opportunity to everyone to put in their thoughts, without any fear or concerns. In fact, online debate platforms are a notch or two better than conventional forums in this regard as the participants from all walks of life can join the debate. Knowing that they are not face to face with other participants, they can freely speak about things they would have otherwise avoided.

Everyday people can identify with the issues discussed upon in the platform. Participation of renowned intellectuals ensures that the issues are analysed threadbare. Articles throw light on previously untouched aspects of a problem, helping the participants cultivate a balanced approach. Whatever be the debate topic – politics, international relations or social issues – the visitors can speak their minds and gather what other intellectuals have to say about the matter.

The subject is the latest debate on Leicester Exchanges, a popular online debating forum in the UK. A recent feature on the forum analyses why it is hard to find research which can be actually used by the managers.

The feature underlines how the management research has been limited to the esoteric academic journals, which are read only by other academics and not by the managers, who have to actually use it. Current management research abounds in theory, but is wanting in practical lessons. Management research papers do not have substantial following among managers. The research work values theoretical advances on practical lessons, in-depth discussions on concise summaries, and methodological detail on clear communication, making it devoid of any real value for the managers.

The debate provides insight into why evidence-based approach hasn’t been implemented in management research, quite opposite to the field of medicine. While day-to-day clinical practice is based on research, the efforts for advancing the evidence-based management haven’t produced the expected results. Part of the answer lies in the academics’ tendency to produce research which helps them advance their career in the competitive university system, rather than the business association which is funding the research. Readers can comment by filling up the form provided right below the article.

Leicester Exchanges has emerged as a popular platform for discussing social issues in the UK. This latest article on the website follows other topics recently discussed such as Comprehensive Schools & The Future, The Law on Abortion, Arts Funding Cuts, and many more. The debate forum has emerged as a preferred platform for the academics to raise social, political, environmental and economic issues which help in shaping our society. It has made sharing insights so easy for the participants. About Leicester Exchanges

Leicester Exchanges conducts online debates on a variety of issues. For discussing social, environmental, scientific, educational or political issues, UK citizens now pick the platform over other debate medium for the advantages it provides. It helps them to get apprised with the views of leading academics in the country that are willing to share their valuable insight on the website.

The training day ‘Adolescents and attachment – good outcomes in foster care’ was delivered by renowned Child Psychotherapist Dr Margot Sunderland, Director at The Centre for Child Mental Health, London.

Dr Sunderland delivered a series of absorbing and thought provoking sessions which gave delegates the chance to explore the key components of secure attachment and specific ways in which they can offer therapeutic support to children and young people.

Dr Sunderland feels strongly that foster carers need the tools to deal with situations they will almost certainly come across. She said: “Without this knowledge carers can struggle to make sense of children’s challenging behaviour. If you have natural empathy and compassion you can use these skills very readily and you will find they will come very naturally. It’s about engendering trust and hope in children who have lost all trust and hope. ”

Fosterplus Operations Director Alison McDaid said the training day was a great opportunity for foster carers and staff to learn together. She said: “We have a large number of adolescents in our care, and of course all our children will reach adolescence, so it can be really challenging. What we’ve learnt about today is how foster carers can really make a difference. Our aim is that our carers and staff can go away better equipped to do a great job and achieve great outcomes.”

Fosterplus Training Manager Dale Cooper said the conference was also about valuing people. He said: “It’s a chance for people to come together and it’s a very relevant subject, but it’s also about showing our appreciation of our staff teams and the carers that work for us. We listen to what they need, we listen to what they want, and we go away and try to provide the very best training. At the end of it what we are trying to do is equip our foster carers in the best possible way so that the children in their care thrive.”

Savage, MN, November 28, 2011 – Scott Rajavuori has always had a heart for the youth at his church. After years of doing junior high ministry he has felt led to a new program that works with kids who are going through “stuff”. The Life Hurts God Heals program reaches out to kids who need a “real” environment that they can open up in and talk about life. Having gone through his share of bumps, bruises, and bad choices both as a kid and adult Scott feels he can relate.

The first few weeks of involvement have been awesome as he has had the opportunity to connect with his new friends. Scott says, “It is amazing when you put time aside and volunteer with kids how your effort to help others actually almost does more for you. It heals my hurts, seeing how God can use my past “junk” to minister to others.” GO GOD!

Scott Rajavuori was led to the prison and recovery ministry through his own experiences. Often in life we ask God “why”? When the real question is “how”? God promises to use the things the devil meant for bad for his Glory and Good. Scott sees how healing happens in his own life and others when we take the ugly stuff of life and use it to help others to show them they can get through it if they just hold on. Scott has been spending time as both a mentor at different programs as well as life coaching and different half way houses and really likes the relationship he has with Midwest Challenge. Midwest challenge is a program that really follows through on the mission statement and what they believe. You see many men fail when you are dealing with guys either coming from a life of chemical abuse or prison.

It is so awesome when you see a guy in a life changing program like Midwest Challenge start making good choices and you are there to be part of it. There is little better than seeing God glorified through a changed life and that comes from a man who’s life has forever been changed!

There are many plans to be made and both the wedding day itself and the wedding reception will require lots of thoughts. The wedding reception is a chance to celebrate with more friends and family and it is also important for the bride and groom to ensure their guests enjoy the occasion just as much as they do. There are lots of innovative and novel ideas for wedding reception celebrations and photo booth rental is one party and social occasion idea that has become incredibly popular for many reasons.

The photo booth is a small machine that can either be supplied individually on a stand or can be supplied as part of a complete booth where the photo booth machine will be private and guests can enter the photo booth and take limitless pictures of themselves alone or with a small group of guests. The bride and groom can be part of the pictures and can take many photographs of themselves with family and special friends.
This photography function of the photo booth allows for special memories to be made and kept forever, these photographs are also saved within the photo booths memory and are supplied on disc form for the bride and groom at the end of the wedding reception function.

The video function of the photo booth is also a very special function and acts rather like a wedding book would, guests would normally write special messages in a wedding book and leave heartfelt memories for the bride and groom to keep forever, photo booths for wedding reception work very much in the same way but are on a much more personal level. Guests can leave special, funny or humorous messages for the bride and groom and these will also be saved for the bride and groom to keep forever.

A photo booth for a wedding reception will be positioned in a place that is completely visible to all the guests but in a place where it will not be in the way. Guests can come and use the photo booth throughout the evening and can leave multiple messages if they wish.

Photo booths for wedding receptions are a novel concept and one that has become incredibly popular over the last couple of years, the personality and the idea of capturing natural images entices guests to use the photo booth especially at special occasion such as a wedding reception. Photo booths have been popular for many years and are not a new idea but their concept has continued to thrive. The new and innovative photo booth rentals now offer more in the way of technology and the software is so much better than it once was. Photo booth software can be adapted to suit almost every environment and the retail sector including social venues are all realising the potential that photo booth rental can offer. If you are interested or want to find out more about photo booth rental, the internet is a good source of information that will explain further what photo booth rental for wedding receptions can add to your special occasion. http://www.digitalmessageboard.co.uk
