According to a recent Usurv survey carried out by Smooch.com, the majority of youthful adults use mobile phones to access the dating site in contrast to older singletons. Findings reveal that 83% of 18-29 year-olds log onto the internet via their smartphone to find their soul mate whereas only 17% of people aged 60 and over do the same.

The study suggests that older people are less in tuned with mobile phones indicating a generation gap as 50% of 30-39 year-olds use online dating on their phone in comparison to 19% of 50-59 year olds. The employment of a singleton is important too because 100% of students use their phone to access the dating website which differs to 25% of those unemployed.

Further results show that the female gender is tech-savvier due to the fact that 40% use smartphones to date to only 26% of men. And more singletons undertaking a higher degree access dating sites on their phone (43%), in comparison to 33% in high school or studying A level.

In general, 33% of those surveyed said that they use their mobile phone to log onto the free online site Smooch. It has 100% free chat, email and is free to contact everyone always; so there is no reason why you can’t search for a potential partner, even if you are away from your laptop or computer.

Stay in contact with a possible companion wherever you go by visiting Smooch today on your mobile phone.

Findings by Real Time Market Research Company Usurv reveal that the traditional cosy pub is the best place to go for a first date during spring as a massive 62% of Brits confessed that this is their ideal date location.

The study found that most males and females opt to sit in their local watering hole when dating and that only 14% of singletons surveyed said they would like to go on a date to the zoo or the park. The pub is a great place to go if you want to get to know someone in a casual environment but the park and zoo are can be more adventurous.

Interestingly, more males admitted that they favoured the zoo as opposed to females as 15% said they considered it as a brilliant date location in comparison to 13% of women.

Furthermore, 6% of Brits chose the theme park as a great place to go on a date in spring and this was more popular with males than women. The theme park is perfect for an action-packed fun date but it isn’t ideal for non-thrill seekers.

The majority of people in high school and in college said the pub and a whopping 80% studying a Bachelor’s Degree said the public house too. In terms of income, nothing really differed however 100% of those surveyed who were unemployed said the pub.

And it seems that age is just a number because 100% of daters over the age of 60 said the pub as a great date location in contrast to only 57% of 18-29 year olds.

Whatever setting you like to visit on a date this spring, make sure you visit UKDate.com as that is the best place for dating in the UK.

The Pink Sofa, which boasts over half a million members, started life over 12 years ago and is successfully connecting lesbians all over the world. Pink Sofa CEO Liz James says ‘ we are thrilled to have won this award and extremely proud of our achievements. We work tirelessly to ensure our members have a safe, fun and relaxed environment in which to meet each other and find love. This award is the seal of approval from the readers of g3′

What makes the pink sofa so special is its unique mix of online dating, social networking and online community features all of which help members find the perfect partner or date. Members have numerous ways to communicate including messages, smiles, instant messenger video and audio, public chatrooms, forums and chit chat.

The site which prides itself on having an all lesbian team, truly understands what women want in a dating site (unlike many similar sites that are run by men) and as like-minded lesbians they are in tune with what their members want and can respond quickly to bring new ideas to the site.

Jane Hunt, Head of Global Sales & Marketing and based in the UK comments, “Pink Sofa is run by real women who work closely with our members to make sure they get the service they want. We are constantly evolving the site and have recently launched the mobile site to be closely followed by an iphone app. Women like the pink sofa because we are not a hook up site. Our members are serious about wanting to find love and a lasting relationship.”

All activity on the site is rigorously monitored, to create a positive and safe environment for members to communicate. The site is full of testimonials from satisfied members who regularly provide unsolicited feedback on how they met their soul mate. Feedback can be read by non-members before they join, via a link on the pink sofa homepage.

Liz James adds “Tens of thousands of our members have found love and happiness through the pink sofa. After 12 years this still remains our primary goal and this award is proof that we are continually getting it right.”

For anyone who hasn’t found love yet, Valentine’s Day could be the perfect time to meet Ms Right!

Findings by Real Time Market Research Company Usurv show that the majority of people are still romantics at heart and look forward to the special day to show their loved one how much they care. However, 34% of those surveyed said that if they had the option, they would cancel it.

The study, which was commissioned by UKDate.com, revealed the difference between males and female’s perceptions of the holiday. A minor 29% of women confessed that they would like to revoke the renowned day, whereas 38% of men admitted that they aren’t too bothered about it.

Further results found that 50% of Brits undertaking a Bachelor’s Degree would ditch the romance in contrast to 71% of people studying a Higher Degree who are idealists. The majority of young people uk dating in High School/ A- level look forward to Valentine’s Day and would not stop celebrating it.

Those surveyed who earned less than £10,000 were the biggest realists, as 43% professed that they would like to cancel 14th February and a staggering 100% of students said they would not!

With regards to employment status, 68% of those jobless said that even if they could, they wouldn’t abandon the annual event which differs from those who are working, as 62.5% confessed that they would.

And it seems that the younger generation are the most pessimistic about love and having a uk date on Valentine’s Day, as the study found that 42% of 18-29 year-olds would scratch it if they had the possibility.

Findings in a new survey by social networking site Badoo show that 52% of British women want to date a younger man. And the hotspot in is in fact Gloucestershire which has been dubbed as the ‘cougar capital’.

The study of 2,000 women found that in Gloucestershire, more women date youthful men as opposed to anywhere else in the country and that more than two thirds of women in the city confessed to being ‘cougars’.

The poll also revealed that despite half of female Britons wanting to date a man who was their junior, 70% admitted to considering an adolescent relationship. A minor 12% of women surveyed said they actively ‘hunted’ out younger men for UK dating.

Aberdeen and Glasgow were the second and third largest ‘cougar’ populations, shortly followed by Southampton, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Oxford, Swansea and Leicester.

According to the survey, reasons stated for the appeal in dating a younger man included the obvious physical side as well as friendship, fun and boost in self-confidence. Over a third of women said they felt more assertive in making the first move online rather than face-to-face.

And celebrities are jumping on board the band wagon too with the recent well-publicised romance between TV presenter Caroline Flack, who is 32, and One Direction band member Harry Styles, who is 17 years-old.

Other famous stars who have large relationship age gaps include Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, who have a 16 year difference; as well as Deltra Goodrem, 26, and Nick Jonas, 18.

So as the ‘toyboy trend’ transforms the British dating scene, find yourself a younger man this festive season and date the UK at DateUK.com.

Findings by UKDate.com, a website dedicated to dating in UK, showed that 48% of Britons want to go on a diet and be healthier in the New Year, compared to 52% of Britons surveyed last year.

The study, of 2875 Brits, revealed how New Year’s resolutions have changed in the past 12 months.

A comparison of the surveys demonstrates that fewer people want to get out of debt next year, as in 2010 14% said this was their New Year resolution, in contrast to only 10% in 2011.

According to the new study, more people want to give up smoking in 2012, with 18% stating this as their New Year resolution when in 2010 it was only 13%.

The second most popular New Year’s resolution for 2012 for the second year in a row is to learn a new skill or hobby. In 2010, 17% of Brits surveyed said they wanted to take up a new pastime whereas in 2011, 20% said they would like to start a new leisure pursuit.

A small amount of people asked, who are looking to date the UK, answered that their New Year’s resolution would be to raise money for charity. The finding showed that 4% of Britons want to be charitable in 2012 compared to just 3% last year.
