Worldwide Timeshare Hypermarket Support Afghan Heroes

Worldwide Timeshare Hypermarket and Worldwide Timeshare Exchange are delighted to be able to support the ‘Give Us Time’ initiative run by ‘Afghan Heroes’ a charity set up to support the brave service men and women of our armed forces who have served their country in overseas theatres.

The charity does this by providing emotional and psychological help through support groups for all returning soldiers and families of the fallen. They also help with future vocational training, including: IT equipment, computers and printers. Give Us Time will also provide injured troops and their families with week-long stays in holiday homes, second homes and timeshares in Britain and around the world.

As part of this support process, Worldwide Timeshare Hypermarket have been able to provide holiday accommodation around the world giving families and service personnel much needed quality time together.

Former Defence Secretary Dr Liam Fox MP commented on the ‘Give Us Time’ initiative “It may be a family who has lost a father in combat, it may be someone who is injured back with their family, or just a family who is having difficulty adjusting to post-combat life.”

Since the start of operations in October 2001 more than 350 British forces personnel have lost their lives while serving in Afghanistan – another 2,000 have been injured. Behind that bold statistic is the untold story of the grief suffered by families, the trauma suffered by colleagues and the lives that have been changed forever.

In July 2009 the mother of a soldier who died in an explosion in Afghanistan had the idea to set up a charity to provide support for those directly involved in the conflict. She found other mothers with the same feelings and Afghan Heroes was launched. The registered charity aims to help our service personnel directly on the front line; the families of those who have fallen and our returning service personnel who have witnessed these horrific losses of their fellow comrades.

Commenting on the project Phil Watson, Chief Executive Officer of Worldwide Timeshare Hypermarket said “We are delighted to be able to show our support towards the men and women who serve our country with such distinction and bravery. To be able to offer them and their families the chance to have a family holiday, to rebuild bonds or take much needed recuperation time is an honour for us to help with”.
